Im missing textures on certain things when i load the map im making as a bsp to test it out. I know custom textures come out as the boxy 'texture mssing' grey when u save it as a bsp befor eyou put it into a pk3, but its not like that. The textures, or part of them, simply arent there. Theyre invisible, and it sometimes only happens to a part of the brush. You can still walk on them, and they act like normal brushes (i.e. you cant go through them) but theyre just inivisble

any suggestions? or do they come back or whatever when its loaded into a pk3?

Write "SV_Pure 0" in the console without quotationmarks. Make sure you have them 512 512. If you have a shader, check if it doesnt make them caulk or something. If you have caulk on the top surface that is shown, it will become invisible.

Jugger.. didnt u see.. the textures are invisible, not randomweirdgreysquares..

Are these only custom ones or are also basejka textures missing?

Oh i see. Well, still try to do the things that i told you. Are you getting hom everywhere then?

it is only base jka textures or textures from other maps(as all the custom ones are grey squares atm) It mostly happens to this one texture which is used quite a lot. That is from Factory, i think. It isnt all the textures of this though, a lot of things with the same texture do appear. Ill take some screenshots when i can

not everywhere, mainly in the tunnels (which use a lot of the same texture as i havent got round to changing it yet) and a few pieces of wood. Ill try chaning the texture as well :P

At least, to avoid your custom textures grey, before you start your map type "SV_Pure 0" in the console. That will allow them. About your other problem, try to post some pics as you said.

on the last two, you can see that that pipe has an invisible bit only from the outside

It might be because your pipe has too many edges. If that happens the texture wont show. And caulk makes things invisible, and so does almost every other texture from the systemfolder.

im not using caulk or a texture from the systemfolder

It has to do something about edges or surfaces. I tried once to make a cylinder out of brushes, and tons of the pieces were invisible. Try making them detail, to see if they reappear.

To make somehting detail, target the brush and then press CTRL+M.

Just to correct an apparent misconception on Juggernaughts part...

You mention making all custom textures 512x512. This is not required. What IS required is that the individual dimensions be a power of two. IE; 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc. So, as an example, you can have textures that are 1024x512, or 32x512, or whatever combination you wish, so long as they are both a power of two.

Well i know, but just use the powerof2 power such as 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256 512 1024 2048 4096 and such.
