regarding load times there are only a small number of additional graphical elements being loaded - unless you were using one of the older (MBII Standard or MBII Blue) skins previously. It's mostly a CSS change with some additional graphics which should be cached after the initial visit anyways. So anything that is noticeably affecting load times might be caused by other factors
